I have had virtually no communication from them execpt when I contact them and ask for more information on closing. My closing date is in a week and a half and they have told me nothing. I know that closing dates can change and I can be flexible but they need to tell people if they aren't going to close on the date they said. I expected a much higher level of customer service than this.

Re: Noma delayed another 2-3 months

Not at all Jason. I looked into it a while back. Their sales center office was (is?) on Mercer Island so I never bothered to go over there. Not knowing much more about the situation I figured they weren't pushing it more because they knew they could get more money if they waited to sell until it was built.

Re: Noma delayed another 2-3 months

Many of these developers will only list a certain number of the building units on the MLS, and then tell buyers that 70% of the units are sold (that were LISTED!). In all reality, they have probably only sold 10-30%. This is a pretty common marketing ploy. I think someone discussed this last week about some other Ballard complex.

BTW, anyone take a look at the Fast Times @ 2200 Blog? I had no idea that Vulcan tried to silence Chucky, and then began posting on his blog...interesting situation.

Re: Noma delayed another 2-3 months

Jason- as long as you haven't signed the NEW addendum for the newest closing dates, you can rescind and get your earnest money back no problem. With the new extensions, they've violated their end of the contract by going beyond the 15-day cushion they built in to the last closing dates, so you are well within your end of the contract to back out unless you signed the new round of addendum papers.

I'm not Max, but I rescinded there as well in April! :)

Re: Noma delayed another 2-3 months

Max - Any problems rescinding your offer at NoMa? But, their website only shows 11 out of 24 sold.

Re: Noma delayed another 2-3 months

not related to NOMA, but what's the deal with the Bellagio up on Bellevue on Capitol Hill? I drive by it everyday back from work and it didn't look like they did any pre-sale whatsover, they finally put up signs that they were selling like a month or two ago and now they just unfurled this sign saying over 70% sold. I don't buy it at all considering we're looking at almost 70 listings at the Cosmo now. You know anything about this Matt?

Re: Noma delayed another 2-3 months

The site is also still waiting on an NFA letter fom the city....financing a retail condo is impossible from any bank without an NFA.....

Re: Noma delayed another 2-3 months

Very wise Max. I'm just scared to death the building won't be made correctly and I'll be stuck there as the HOA sues the builder all the while the condo market weakens.

This thing has been a total disaster from the get go. I decided not to stick around and how it ends ok.

Re: Noma delayed another 2-3 months

My most recent closing date is June 19 for a 2nd floor unit. I still haven't heard from the sales team about the delay and a new closing date. I figure it'll be sometime this week. I don't have a problem with the delays and all. I do have a problem with the lack of information and poor communication between the sales team and buyers. If they kept us in the loop, I think I would be less pissed.

Re: Noma delayed another 2-3 months

andrea,

I hope you get the chance to use your patio. I was the 11th buyer, got my first choice home and my original closing date was October so to say the least...my excitement is almost nil. My new date (2nd floor) is August 10 (last one was June 29)--a date I have little to no faith will mean anything to anyone. As with most people, I've learned that the constant delays have been a result of poor communication between contractors and the PM along with standard new contruction hiccups. Finger's crossed that I will actually get to use my patio THIS summer.
